Op 19 februari 2014 heeft Mw. Mr. Eva Pennings van het advocatenkantoor VanEpsKunnemanVanDoorne voor de leden van de CBIA een presentatie verzorgd over het onderwerp gevolgen van invoering van de Landsverordening bescherming persoonsgegevens (zgn. Privacy wetgeving) voor de verzekeringssector.
De presentatie was goed bezocht. Meer dan 60 personen hebben hieraan deelgenomen.

Op 26 september 2013 heeft de heer Jorik Julsing van PriceWaterHouseCoopers (PWC) een lezing gegeven voor de leden CBIA over de gevolgen van invoering van de Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (zgn. FATCA wetgeving) voor de lokale verzekeringssector.
De lezing was goed bezocht. Er waren meer dan 60 belangstellenden.
Lezing: “Begunstiging en het nieuwe Erfrecht”, mw. Mr. Klazien van Zwieten.

In het kader van recentelijk doorgevoerde veranderingen in het Nieuw Burgerlijk Wetboek,
onderdeel erfrecht heeft mw. Mr. Klazien van Zwieten een boek geschreven met als titel
“Het nieuwe Caribisch-Nederlandse Erfrecht”.
Mw. Van Zwieten verzorgde hierover op donderdag 21 februari 2013 een lezing voor de leden van de CBIA.
De presentatie werd goed bezocht. Er waren ruim zestig aanwezigen.
Anti money laundering and the local insurance industry
(2011)
In the period January - May 2011, a survey was held under the local life insurance company and insurance brokers
in Curacao, to establish the level of compliance with the Anti-Money laundering legislation and regulation.
In essence we wanted to gain insight in the way the subject of Money Laundering is being dealt with in the
respective life insurance companies and broker companies.
The survey was carried out by Ms. Melissa Balootje, a graduating student of the UNA, and was supervised by
Dr. Richeline Martina-Joe, Senior Manager Corporate Affairs Fatum.
We received a lot of information from the insurance companies and the brokers as well as from the Central Bank,
and would like to thank all for their fast response and their esteemed willingness to cooperate.
The main findings of this interesting survey can be viewed in the following presentation.

NAV IAC Conference (June 1-3, 2008)
The 28th Annual Caribbean Insurance Conference "Insurance: An Asset Protection Solution" was held on June 1-3, 2008
in the World Trade Centre, Curaçao.
Keynote speakers were Dr. E.D. Tromp (President Central Bank of the Netherlands Antilles),
M. Jarraud (Secretary-General, World Meteorological Organization) and
W. Delahaye (Group Senior Internal Auditor Guardian Holdings Limited, Jamaica).
